WHAT IS MEDITATION?
Vedic means “from the Veda”, and the Veda is an ancient body of knowledge, probably the oldest knowledge surviving from over 5000 years ago, which is said to be the blueprint for all the laws of nature.
Vedic Meditation does not mean contemplation, concentration, or controlling the mind. It does not require any special posture or paraphernalia, change of lifestyle, or even beliefs.
Vedic Meditation is a simple, easy, systematic technique that allows the mind to settle down to its least excited state, a field of pure silent consciousness. The body simultaneously settles down to a state of deep rest, deeper than even deep sleep, yet the mind remains alert, and this unique state has been called “restful alertness”.
